Small waterfall in the Hahn Horticulture Garden.  The garden attracts many visitors all year.

My goodness, it seems the stereotype of a grand community:  concert by great band, magnificent weather, crowd gathered by Main St. downtown.

Apartments

There are a lot of lovely homes in Blacksburg and there are many lovely apartments.  There is a transient population; apartment buildings are part of the community.

Seems to me the at on the delivery trucks is delightful.  After lunch today these two trucks were parked on the street.

Rehearsal space

The Blacksburg Independence Day celebration will include a Celebration Chorus singing with the community band.  A few of the singers were gathering to start rehearsal.

So, I walk along a route which includes this crest of the hill with signs....and the creatures about which the sign is warning.  No bicycles however.

Baseball at Salem

Fans need protection from pop-up flies, so my seat at the Salem Red Sox game was behind the screen.  The "first pitch" was by a wrestler.

There is an alley from Main St. past the back doors of several restaurants, past a parking lot and a building than can be rented for events, to Draper Road.  It is becoming quite the gallery of murals.

Businessman Michael Abraham started his campaign for a seat in the Virginia General Assembly.

This intersection really is around a curve.  And the building has a curved side. 

Model A Show

At a gathering of Model A vehicles in Christiansburg.  These are in excellent condition and all seem to have good homes.  The second photo was an attempt at an arty photo of the oil can carefully placed at the windshield.  I have not seen this style for a long time. 

Garden Gala

Wine and Roses was the theme of the Gala, the fund-raising event for Virginia Tech's Hahn Horticulture Garden.  It was beautiful weather.

Staircase To Home

Seems a long climb up to the front of this home.

Skyline of Blacksburg

I see this skyline almost every day and it changes, every so slightly, every day.  The Arts Center is becoming dominant but the church steeple and the chimney are still there...and Lane Hall.

Farm Work Continues

This orchard in the Catawba Valley, requires maintenance all year.
