The Huckleberry Trail is a first-class hiking and biking trail that was started from an abandoned railway line. The name is because the train went so slow, riders could jump off, pick huckleberries, and still get back on the train.

Fund-raising for Haiti

Local radio stations are fund-raising for Haiti by putting trucks at popular spots, such as near a restaurant by Virginia Tech, and asking people to fill up the truck. It was early in the day, but there was money in the truck.

Duck Pond cinematographers

Many decades ago, the Duck Pond froze enough to be used for ice skating. Since it has been cold, I thought I would see if it is frozen today. It was not frozen but this film crew was working and they seemed cold.
