I could stand in the middle of the street. There were no cars or people.

Civil War Sign

Signs to help tourists find the Civil War historic site at the Westview Cemetery, went up last week. And the community is quiet this week.

Looking for a new business

Masonic Lodge building has not found a new business. It is a beautiful building.

This tiny wall is on Main St. It seems old-fashioned by the sidewalk next to the lanes of traffic.

There was a line of demonstrators on Main St. today. They were tough; it was pouring rain and chilly. Santa was among them.

Town is quiet

Community seems to be winding down for a quiet holiday.

Roanoke St. Closed

It appears that new traffic signals will be installed. Right now there is no traffic signal...but the intersection is closed.

Just before a meeting

A group was about to sit down for a serious meeting.

Community Band

It takes the performers--singers and band--and the technical crew to carry the audience along for a holiday concert.

Master Chorale concert

Life in Blacksburg seemed to return to normal after yesterday. The Master Chorale presented a concert at St. Mary's Catholic Church.

This portable shop sells styles of holiday decorations of real trees. It appears on Main St. only for the Christmas season.

Odd Fellows Hall

The Odd Fellows Hall has been able to add an ADA ramp to allow access. But the ramp appears steep.

Red flag flying

A diving business regularly flies this flag.

New restaurant

This location is hosting a new restaurant. Other restaurants have been in this building.

Still up on blocks

This house has been up on blocks at least since October. That is a car on the street on the other side of the house. The sign on the building says its future use is "coming soon.

Building over water

While traveling near Fayetteville, W. Va., I had to admire this skills to build this building. It seems to have been a gas station.
