Football atmosphere

There was Va. Tech football this weekend;  it was an away game.  This is from the last home game.

Virginia Safari Park

No, she does not live in Blacksburg, but in nearby Natural Bridge and she seems to wish her child would get an apartment of its own.  Seems worse than having your adult child live in the basement.

New building planned for Main St., named The Brownstone, will including this building.  It is on the left in the rendering.

Football Colors

In the football game today the colors were confusing to regular fans such as me.  The Va. Tech colors are orange and  maroon and it is the Visitor, Bowling Green University, that is wearing the orange shirts.  Va. Tech, the home team, is in white.

Park(ing) Day

They are celebrating Park(ing) Day to recognize the value of park space.  They have created a park in a parking space. 

Sandwich shop

Downtown is filled with places to get food, drink, and haircuts.

A Save Stadium Wood sign

Local business put up a Save Stadium Woods sign. 

Robo Roller

The worker is using a remote control to send the robo roller back and forth...perhaps to compress the soil for the new sidewalk.

Photo Workshop

There was a lot of good information on photographing indoor climbing at a workshop today at Crimper's Climbing Gym.  There was a lot of information for climbing--steep climbing and gymnastic falling for climbers.

It is quiet in the farmers market now.

Stage on drillfield

A large stage was built on the drillfield today.  It is for the Victoria’s Secret Pink Nation Tailgate Party: Pink Takes Tech  a concert featuring Gym Class Heroes and Chiddy Bang. The event is  because of a competition won by Virginia Tech in the spring.

Meter as art

The redesign of College Ave. as a promenade in the art district includes making the old parking meters into art.  Again, as was done with the street, local schools were invited to decorate.

Panorama of future business site

This area will be developed.  It was the site of a high school, which became a middle school, and its sports fields.  It will be businesses and condos.

Cozy home

A style of home from perhaps the 1950s when this neighborhood was constructed.

'Twas an interesting football game last night, especially the last two minutes and the overtime.  Virginia Tech 20-Georgia Tech 17.

Seems a low profile

Seems a very low profile for a business.  According to the website it is a construction design firm, with offices in several places.

When I just turn around from the point of the mural yesterday and the day before, I can take a photo of this mural.  It is in the same alley, on a different building.
