Breakfast at the Market

Once a year the Farmer's Market celebrates with a Breakfast.  There is more music and art than normal and the Market expands across Draper Road to the Media Bldg front yard.

Friendly competition

Two local gyms, Crimper's Climbing Gym and Crossfit, shared the enthusiasm for fitness.  Members of each gym tried the events of the other gym, earning points for the competition.

Mural artist

The artist creating the mural on Draper Road said it was a work in progress.  Next is the status I posted Sept. 10, 2011 and the third is a pix of the wall before the mural was started (and after some graffiti was removed.)

Business Expo

Roanoke Radio Morning show host, David Page, was emceeing at the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce Expo today.  Local businesses showed their wares.

Ladies on the Links

It was a hot day but members of the Ladies on the Links, a league at the Virginia Tech course, played as usual.  My friend achieved her goal in low score, but she only set a new goal.

This platform or disconnected balcony is in the backyard of a home half a block from Main St.  It has tables and chairs; seems about four feet above the ground.

After a long period of hot and dry days there was some rain this morning.

There are still alley-ways between older buildings on Main St.  The newer building have a small space often with a gate to restrict who can walk through.

(aside:  there has been a major power outage in Blacksburg and the region.  Many people have not had Internet access for many days.)
