One can estimate how long a person has lived here when that person gives directions using the cheese factory as a landmark. The building is used for apartments.

McDonald's Mill

The road through Catawba Valley, where the mill is located, was once the main route between Blacksburg and Roanoke.

Crumbling Barn

A relic of a time when farming was a vital part of the economy in the valley between Roanoke and Blacksburg.
