Cambria mural


 A mural to celebrate the community of Cambria.  The nearest train goes through Cambria which is part of Christiansburg (and next to Blacksburg).  There was a train to Blacksburg.  It was called the Huckleberry because it was so slow, students could pick huckleberries and still get back on the train.

Model A Show


At a gathering of Model A vehicles in Christiansburg.  These are in excellent condition and all seem to have good homes.  The second photo was an attempt at an arty photo of the oil can carefully placed at the windshield.  I have not seen this style for a long time.

Buildings in the news today



The collapse of the Blacksburg High School gym roof in February has changed the school life of many students. The high school students will be going to school in the Blacksburg Middle School. The middle school students will go to renovated former Christiansburg Middle School.
