Re-painted bicycle lane

The bicycle lane at a major busy intersection has been painted green.  The new color does make it more visible.

Fence to stop crossing Prices Fork Road

A fence has been installed to stop individuals from crossing at the "former cross walk."  It seems a problem.  The direct route from a large apartment complex to the Virginia Tech campus, across a major four-lane road had a cross walk.  It was removed; pedestrians directed to the intersection with a traffic signal.  But maybe it is difficult to change route?

No more Crosswalk

This crosswalk is between major university facilities and a large apartment complex.  It crosses four-lanes of traffic.  It will be closed March 7.  My question:  will pedestrians continue to take the direct route?  The plan is that the pedestrians will make a loop of about a block to a crosswalk at a traffic signal that has a walk/don't walk control.

Building shape

Several buildings in this area have interesting shapes.  This curved window looks out on Prices Fork Road.

About a block from Main St. are the historical structures of St. Luke Church.

Almost Gone

This was a motel and restaurant for many years.  It is being demolished and will soon be something new.

Logo sculptures

Two of these renditions of the company logo are visible from Prices Fork Road.  They are about 4 feet tall.  (sorry I didn't get something in photo to show size)

An interesting intersection

This intersection really is around a curve.  And the building has a curved side.

The Oakbridge Apartments are to be removed to make way for the EDGE, a new set of apartments.

Differently shaped building

When this building was just completed, I wondered about its interesting shape.  The business in it is a manicure salon.

New Building

Prices Fork Road has many interestingly shaped buildings.  This is across from the building posted yesterday.  It is new; there are no signs.

Crossing Prices Fork

This hi-tech warning to drivers senses when there are people about to step out into traffic. The lights begin to flash when someone walks by.
