Post Office as community

My goodness:  this seemed like a different era.  Today Blacksburg thanked a retiring postal worker.  Her friends were invited to a reception.

Was there a time when the post office was a gathering place for the community?   It was here in Blacksburg.

Was lucky to again enjoy a delightful show at Virginia's state theatre at Abingdon, Barter Theatre.  This is one of the sculptures across from Barter Theatre.

Blacksburg has football

'Twas exciting and cold.  Two state teams played for the Commonwealth Cup.  The temperatures were low, very low.  The game went to the last four seconds.
