Along a narrow, winding road just outside Blacksburg heading toward Roanoke, there must have been an older road. That older road must have needed this bridge. The leaves have been there since Fall, but the redbud is blooming as it does every Spring.
Along Main St. at the corner of College Ave., there is another street...on the left in the photograph. The street is about a block long and it ends at Main St. It is a remnant of a street from the time when there was a building in the middle of what is now Main St. Just interesting downtown.
The church is on South Main St., a four-lane street, and the flowers are part of the median. But it can look as if the daffodils are in the church's front yard.
Many years ago there was a motel on South Main St. named Lake Terrace. The name probably was because it was behind a small lake. The motel is gone and this has replaced the lake.
