From the past

Important persons from Blacksburg's past walked among us this Halloween in downtown.  True, they were from different eras, but the celebration gave them the chance to see how their community is doing in today's world.

Flowers in the snow

Blacksburg remained on the edge of the storm, named Sandy.  It swirled around us causing great havoc but leaving only a light dusting of snow on my geraniums.

It appears this is a flat lot in the midst of rolling hills.  It is at the corner of Graves and Willard.

Main street light poles sported pink scarves today.  Pretty in Pink is the fund-raising and awareness effort to support research about cancer.

Haymarket Theatre

Some community theatre productions are done in this theatre at Squires Student Center, Virginia Tech.

Candidate Forum

The League of Women Voters of Montgomery County sponsors forums which give citizens the chance to hear candidates respond to questions.  This Forum was for the County Commonwealth's Attorney.

Studio Theatre

These people are working on a set for a production at the Studio Theatre in Squires Student Center at Virginia Tech.

Lyric theatre

The Lyric restoration and development is continuing.  It is moving to the most modern system as it displays one of the older systems.

Work on the creation of a promenade on College Ave. continues.

Weather was delightful for a round by members of Ladies on the Links. 

Tree may have been hit by lightening

The tree in the center seemed dead months ago.  It is not fall colors.  The explanation I just learned, is that it was hit by lightening. 

Hurrying

True, this bactrian Camel doesn't live in Blacksburg, but in nearby Natural Bridge.  It was photogenic. 

Currently, tennis courts

These tennis courts may be moved when an indoor football practice area is built.  It was part of the issue for the trees in Stadium Woods.
