My Poinsettia

I enjoy keeping poinsettias for as long as they will grow.  This, which spent the summer on my front porch, produced the exciting red leaves this year for the first time.

Goodwin Engineering Building

Goodwin, the newest building at Virginia Tech, is the new home of several engineering departments.  The top photo is a jet engine hanging from the ceiling near the entrance.  Hope the doors several floors below provide some scale to its size.  A robotics lab seems cluttered with robots and a three-D printer is available in the hallway for any students to use.

Roanoke's Center in the Square offered music as well as excellent theatre.  This hammer dulcimer player was prelude to a performance in Mill Mountain Theatre of Children of Eden.

Celebrations of the season

The Pulaski theatre will feature traditional celebrations tomorrow.  What can be more delightful than "White Christmas" and a performance by a barbershop style a cappella singing group!
