Capone's has moved

Capone's, a jewelry store, has been on Main Street for a long time.  It has now moved about two blocks...but is still on Main St., downtown.  I always told my family that if they wanted to get me a gift, almost anything from Capone's would be fine.

Game day at Lane Stadium.  The game also celebrated a long-term coach whose last game was today.  And the videographer I talked with yesterday was working the game today too.

Blacksburg is booming for a football game.  Today this television crew, with ESPN on their sign, was interviewing customers at Lefty's.

Some of the young workers for the Y Arts and Crafts Fair were interviewed by WDBJ television station.  Wonderful art was available at the Fair.  

Movie about rock climbing

Crimper's Climbing Gym showed the film Reel Rock 10.  Climbers came to watch the documentary in the indoor climbing gym.

Great style

True, Blacksburg is not on the water, but these posts with their lakeside style, have been at Lefty's restaurant for a long time.  They are reminiscent of when the building was operating as a different restaurant.  I enjoy seeing them.

The Lyric theatre, the Heart of Blacksburg

A book chronically the history of the Lyric Theatre was launched at a grand ceremony tonight.  The creators: front row: writer:  Cheryl Wood Ruggiero, designer, Christina O'Connor, person to whom the book is dedicated Lindsay West, writers Su Clausen Wicker and Lesley Howard.  back row Don Drapeau, chair of the Lyric Board.

Internationally known poet Nikki Giovanni, talked to some of the members of the Virginia Tech Faculty Women.  Giovanni has been on the faculty of Virginia Tech for many years.

Ann Hess Pottery will be part of the Y Craft Fair. The Fair, Nov. 13 to 15, has been an annual sale for a long time.  Customers count on it for holiday gifts.
