This field, on the Virginia Tech campus near one of the research centers, seemed to be providing lunch for the geese. I think the geese live near the Duck Pond.

As part of the pre-game festivities, there was a fly-over. The plane's crew, which included Virginia Tech graduates, was at Lane Stadium by the start of the second half.
