Airport Acres

There is a section called Airport Acres.  There are three streets with homes that perhaps were built in the 1950s.  It is a desirable neighborhood.

Aviation Wall of Fame

Of course, the Hokie Bird stands at the Virginia Tech Aviation Wall of Fame at the airport.

Airport almost finished

The airport just finished extending its runway. There still has to be approval by FAA and some finishing touches.

Airport runway extension

This was an attempt to photograph the beginning of the work to extend runways at the local general aviation airport. But I can't get close. The newspaper article about the work said that "xx"s have been painted on the runway to warn pilots but I couldn't see them from the sidewalk.
