DNA is so cool

I can remember when DNA was the stuff of science labs. Today, students learn about it in elementary school. The stuff on the end of the rod in this student's hands is strawberry DNA. And, the great granddaughter of Charles Darwin was a guest at the celebration of Darwin's work at which the youngsters extracted DNA. She is Dr. Cecily Darwin Littleton.

House lifted higher-swing still on porch

The moving company lifted this house higher so that a lower level could be created. I still find it delightful that the swing is still in place.

Cheerleaders are definitely athletes. This was halftime at the Virginia Tech-Central Michigan football game.

The new home and office of a dentist are next to each other.

LumenHaus at night on drillfield

The international award winning LumenHaus is on display on the Virginia Tech drillfield. Tonight it was lighted and open so we could walk through. We were lucky in that the architect was there too and talked with us.

Moving two houses

Just thought it was interesting that two houses are being lifted up. One is on Main St.; the other on Progress.

Art Tour 10

A group of artists who collectively are Art Tour 10 have an open studio event every year. It is a chance for the community to see how they work.
