Looking up the hill along Main St. with the parallel road to the right. The parallel road is on the town map and it is Main St. It must be considered just another lane for traffic.

Windows at the Taubman

The window at the Taubman Art Gallery in Roanoke, is its architectural feature. This view is the inside of the lobby. The stairs, on the left and reflected in the window, make the viewer think of a southwest Virginia mountain stream.

Designer Bench

The simple lines are creating a well-used bench by one of the local coffee shops.

The book "Izzy's Fire" is used in some schools to help students understand the Holocaust. The library hosted at talk by the author.

Fly-over Lane Stadium

Last home football game of this season was ideal weather. Again, there was a flyover of military planes during the playing of the National Anthem. The timing was perfect; the planes and the music create a dramatic moment.

Newspaper box

Boxes for different publications such as newspaper or real estate publications, are lined up together on College Ave. This is the one most creatively decorated.

Restaurant called Abella Cafe

Abella Cafe is a pizza restaurant located on Draper Ave. The restaurant is below a parking lot and the entrance is part of its charm. It managed to make its entrance accessible even in its lower level location.

The clouds were hanging low over Main St.

New route for Blacksburg Transit

Blacksburg Transit provides a vital service to the community. Extending its routes to Christiansburg has been a major effort by both towns. Today this bus was parked by the offices.

Hokie House

This has been part of the downtown landscape for decades. Cooks Clean Center and Hokie House provide services that many of us use.
